Cirque A La Mode

July 29, 2009

Of all the new trends emerging, there was one that flew under my radar for some time, the fashion style of the circus punks. It seems that every town is laden with a plethora of circus troops, and it has birthed a community all its own. Unlike other trends, it has evolved from just a clique into a lifestyle. A good example is El Circo, a performance troop that always had tight ties with one of my favorite designers, Ernte.

As for the fashion, stripe pants and cute vests have always been my cup of tea, they can create so many outfit possibilities. Unfortunately, bloomers are not. Sorry kids, they must die by the way of flame. There is a reason they went out of style…….a hundred years ago. Let them rest in peace.

Killer Klimt

July 15, 2009

Even though this is a chronicle concerning style, now and then the art world produces gems demanding to be shared. The work of Gustav Klimt has always been my fond favorite, and imagine my delight when I discovered this photography series by Moises Gonzalez.

Recently, I have come to accept that Etsy is a viable source for clothing acquisition. In the past, I wrote the website off as a gathering of silly crafts, but these designers have changed my mind.

No Disappointment In Sight

July 13, 2009

On a semi regular basis, I sing the song of love to my favorite men’s designer, Julius. Once again, with his new line, he has failed to disenchant me.

Bring on the tactical gothninjas!

Folding Time

July 11, 2009

One of the things I forage for when I’m sifting through the current collections is this: Fabric that folds or drapes like paper. And no ones does it quite like Dior, with their fleet of origami cupcakes.

Oh Look! A Distraction.

July 9, 2009

Greetings toadies.

Worry not! New snarky articles are on their way, but these things take time. So to keep you occupied, look forward to a few days of ‘Hey, look at this neat thing’.

Snark soon. Until then…………courage.

CHANEL

Usually, Chanel doesn’t do it for me. Too plain for my tastes. But look at this outfit! Simply divine!

Cowl In Fear

July 8, 2009

Remember Steamcunt’s article about skin care? Well, if you missed it,  it was exceptional.

Some may not have found the article so helpful. For those of you doomed to permanent skin purgatory, I offer this advice……

Cowl neck garments are so in right now. Just go ask Rick Owens, he’s got your back. Goth ninjas gotta hide somehow……
